We have been celebrating in Robins this week. We have been doing our termly assessments and the children have made us proud as usual. The children as always have worked hard and really shown us what they can do, Well done children with your achievements this week.

In English we have been reading a variety of texts and securing our comprehension skills by answer questions about what we have read. Next week we will be starting our new text ‘Tadpole’s Promise.’ This text links with our Come and See topic of Change, and our art and DT topic on symmetry.

In maths, we have been consolidating our multiplication skills. We still need to work on counting forwards and backwards in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s as this will help when we are learning our times tables.

Next week we will continue with our multiplication and times tables.

In Come and See we have started our new topic called ‘Change.’ We have been talking about and describing how we have changed since we were a baby and thought about seasonal changes. We have written riddles for our friends to read and be able to identify each other’s favourite season. Please continue to send in 2 photographs of your child – one as a baby and one now. We will add these to our come and see display.

During our art lesson this week we have been looking at the work of Salvador Dali and using his artwork as inspiration for our own work on symmetry and symmetrical butterflies.

In geography we have begun our learning in the United Kingdom. We are going to be learning about the 4 countries of the UK, the different flags, capital cities and other interesting facts about where we live.

Our Wednesday Worder this week was Summer. Summer tries her best with everything that she is asked to do. She is happy and polite to everyone she meets. Well done Summer, we are very proud of you!

Our Ozzie’s Way Champion of the Week is Daniel. A double whammy this week for Daniel and Summer who are twins. Lots to celebrate this week for Daniel and Summer. Daniel is always eager to complete the tasks that he is set. He comes bouncing into school with a massive smile on his face and that smile continues for the whole day. Well done Daniel we are very proud of you!

This week was cake week! – WOW what a selection of scrummy cakes! I think that there are quite a few Robins who have a future on the Great British Bake Off – Tremendous effort from everyone! A big thank you for the cakes and providing your child with the money to buy one. Continue to send money into school, if you would like your child to buy cakes next week, as other classes will be selling their cakes.

Friday the 13th!!!!! A day not many people look forward to – not in our school – the children could not wait for Friday the 13th because it meant Sports Relief and they could come to school dressed in their sport clothes. Please look on Twitter and Flickr for photographs Thank you for your kind donations today.

This week we had a visit from the PCSO’s. They told us lots of interesting information about their job and we asked amazing questions to find out more.

RAFFLE TICKETS – Tickets for the Easter raffle are being sold for 20p each. We really need prizes for the children to win in the raffle – please send in a prize to be put into the raffle.

We are looking forward to hearing about your weekend adventures on Monday. Have a great weekend everyone!
