Eagles have had a great start to the week. We have been enjoying our new book that has explained the achievements and work of the suffragettes. Eagles have been researching and writing a biography about the Christabel Pankhurst, the suffragette icon.
In maths, we have been focusing on ratio and using the language of ratio to help us solve problems. We have also been completing some revision to support us with our assessments next week.
Our World Book Day was a great success! The children looked great, with many taking inspiration from our new English book for their costume. Thank you to the children who brought in potatoes for our competition! Eagles have transformed our class door into the front cover of a book we have read in English.
The new topic for Design and Technology is cooking. We are linking our humanities topic of WWII to cooking. Eagles will be learning about rationing and the impact it had on baking at home. We got to taste cakes this afternoon and evaluate them on their appearance, flavour and texture. A very enjoyable lesson!
Next week is assessment week – we will try to run this week as similar as we can to SATs week to build up the children’s experience and confidence.
Please continue to support you child with their revision and bringing in their reading diary on a Tuesday. Thank you!
