The children have had another excellent week this week. Thank you for all the fantastic World Book Day costumes and potatoes! They were all amazing – see the photos on Twitter.
In English this week we have continued the story - The Matchbox Diary. Thank you to everyone for bringing in your 3 items to share. We have completed our writing about these and the children have produced some excellent autobiographies based on their memories. They have brought the items home tonight as we have finished using them in school.
In maths we have continued our work about shape. We have looked at measuring – particularly using a ruler. The Y3s have drawn and described 2d shapes and the Y4s have been introduced to obtuse and acute angles.
Please encourage your child to go on TT Rockstars to further develop their rapid recall of multiplication and division facts – the Y4s will be having a test on this in the Summer Term and details about this were sent home this week. Y4s have been learning their 6 times tables this week and the Y3s have been focusing on their 3s.
In History we have been learning about the Vikings and Anglo-Saxon Kings during the Viking period. If children wish to find out more about this, they are welcome to bring in any facts that they find.
Tonight, the children have brought home a packet of drumstick squashies as a thank you from the PTA. We were one of the winners from the Copper Challenge – thank you for all your contributions!
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Grindley, Miss Farrell and Mrs Catterall
