Hope you all had a good half term! The children have certainly come back ready to learn and have made an excellent start to the term!
In English this week we have started our new book – The Matchbox Diary. Thank you to those children who have collected 3 items which remind them of an event in their lives and have already brought them into school. We will be using them next week so if you have not done this then please bring them in on Monday. We have been continuing our learning of modal verbs, inverted commas and the 4 sentence types.
In maths we have started our work on shape – we have looked at quadrilaterals and right angles so far. The children all made a right angle monster and we went outside to find right angles (unfortunately the snow forced us back inside!!) but we managed to find a few on the playground and even more in our classroom!
Please encourage your child to go on TT Rockstars to further develop their rapid recall of multiplication and division facts – the Y4s will be having a test on this in the Summer Term. Y4s have been learning their 6 times tables this week and the Y3s have been focusing on their 3s.

Have a lovely weekend,
