What a fast week we have just had! I cannot believe it has been a week since our amazing French breakfast.
In English we have been talking about the mischief the Naughty Bus has been causing and been completing a story map about the mischief he could cause at home and in school. Watch out for weird and mischievous things happening as you could have had a visit from the ‘Naughty Night Bus!’
In maths this week we have been learning about greater than and less than within 100. We have been introduced to the greater than (>) and less than (<) symbols and also the equals sign (=). For the equals sign we have found out that both sides of the sign has the same value but may look different e.g. 10 = 5+5. We will be looking at this more when we start our calculations learning.
Maths challenge Can you identify numbers in your environment and give a number that is greater than or less than the number you have spotted?
In science we have continued to look at similarities and differences between us and our friends.
In design technology, with Mrs Fox, we have started to design our cup and ball toy and we are very excited to make our toy next week… plus have a play with it too!!
We have spent time taking part in children’s yoga in our classroom, focusing on our breathing and movements.
Well done to Esau and Maisie who were our Ozzie’s Way Champions of the Week (last week and this week). Everyday these two children are following the Ozzie’s Way with their kind words and actions. They never give up and always enjoy learning new things. We are very proud of you both!
Well done to Isobella who was our Wednesday Worder this week. Our Wednesday Word was ‘Faith.’ She definitely shows each and every day that she is following Jesus’ rule of ‘love one another.’ She always makes the right choices and will help others to make the right choices too. Isobella we are very proud of you.
REMINDER – Year 1 parents – please could you send in your slips to let me know if you can/cannot attend our phonics inspire session on Wednesday 9th October. Thank you to the parents who have already completed and sent their slips back to school.
Have a great weekend, fingers crossed that the weather is kind to us and we can all go down to the woods (hopefully there won’t be a big surprise!) and do some conker picking… that’s my plan for me and my little boy this weekend.
Looking forward to Monday and finding out about all your weekend adventures… I hope the Naughty Night Bus does not pay you a visit.
Miss Lea, Mrs Fox and Mrs Davies
